Unlock Your Dev Potential: No-Code Tools I Recommend
15 years ago when I started coding professionally, the landscape of web application development tools was nothing like it is today. The best "low code" tools were things like Wordpress, which while still technically alive is far from the first thing I'd recommend today.
10 years ago, there was an explosion of no-code and low-code tools that changed the game. Visual website and even complete application builders started to become useful in the real-world, enabling founders and product people to get a taste of building websites without needing a full-time developer.
Now, thanks to generative AI, continued improvements to the tech, and a more competitive landscape, the possibilities for non-technical founders to build real production applications are both exciting and overwhelming.
I originally wrote this list back in 2019, but because of how much the ecosystem has changed, it was long overdue for an update.
While I'm not writing production code anymore, my usage of low and no-code tools has increased, so I thought it might be helpful to capture some of the most effective web application builders that make sense in 2025. From AI-powered code editors to intuitive drag-and-drop interfaces, these tools are designed to empower you—no coding experience required. Let’s dive in and discover how you can harness the power of these platforms to launch a new project, client portal, or demo app today!
